NKC WEEKEND UPDATE · SEASON 18 · OCTOBER 16, 2026
Live from Chicago, it’s Friday night! And this is your NKC Weekend Update.
A little neighborhood real estate, a few useful numbers, and no three-hour presentation. Here’s what we’re watching in Lincoln Square heading into October 17–18.
Watch: buying a Chicago condo beyond the asking price
Same asking price, different monthly cost. In this short video, Joshua walks through assessments, building questions and daily-life details to check before buying a Lincoln Square condo.

Lincoln Square homes for sale: the current lineup
Our October 16 morning MRED search returned 36 public sale listings in Lincoln Square’s Area 8004: 9 single-family homes, 22 condos and attached homes, and 5 two-to-four-unit buildings.
| Property type | Listings | Asking-price range |
|---|---|---|
| Single-family | 9 | $575,000–$3,950,000 |
| Condos / attached | 22 | $125,000–$1,175,000 |
| Two-to-four-unit | 5 | $739,900–$1,247,500 |
What changed this week?
11 new sale listings carried list dates October 9–15, compared with 9 during October 2–8. The newer listings include 5 attached homes, 4 detached homes and 2 two-to-four-unit buildings, with asking prices from $230,000 to $2,250,000.
Three records carried contract dates October 9–15, versus seven the previous week. These are dated contract records, not the total number of homes currently pending.
Joshua’s take
We have a few more new choices to compare. One week of activity doesn’t establish a price trend, especially when the mix ranges from condos to larger homes. Compare layout, condition, assessments, parking and the full monthly cost. That’s where a neighborhood update becomes useful for your own plans.
Lincoln Square rentals
The October 16 search returned 49 current rental listings, with monthly asking rents from $1,400 to $7,332. That is current inventory, not 49 rentals newly listed this week. Ask about lease terms, additional fees, parking and laundry before narrowing your list.
Lincoln Square open houses: October 17–18
The weekend search showed 13 properties with scheduled open houses. There are 18 sessions with usable times in our checked schedule; one additional entry has an unusual start time and needs confirmation. Want a route that fits your budget and must-haves? Reach out and I’ll help you choose the stops worth your time. Confirm each session before leaving, since schedules can change.
Make a little neighborhood time
The Lincoln Square Music Crawl runs Saturday, October 17, 11 a.m.–9 p.m., at locations around the neighborhood.
Greektoberfest at St. Demetrios, 2727 W. Winona, runs Saturday 3–10 p.m. and Sunday noon–9 p.m. Check organizers for updates and browse the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber events calendar for more weekend ideas.
